Tom Aubrey
Senior Pastor
About Pastor Tom
Tom joined the CLCBC staff in December 2021. He serves as the primary teaching pastor and leader for the fulfillment of the mission and vision of the church.
Tom graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a diploma in Bible/Theology, from Trinity College (Deerfield, IL) with a B.A. degree in Psychology, from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with a Master of Divinity, and has completed doctoral course work in Leadership at Bethel Seminary (St. Paul, MN).
Tom’s previous ministry experience includes serving as Solo or Senior Pastor of three Evangelical Free churches in Colorado, Minnesota, and Illinois. Tom is married to Carol and together they have four children and ten grandchildren.
Tom is passionate about helping people take the next step in following Jesus. He finds great satisfaction in helping seekers become convinced of Christ, believers become confident in Christ, and followers become committed to Christ.

About John
John joined the staff of CLCBC on October 1st, 2007. He serves as the associate pastor overseeing the disciple-making process, men’s ministry team and serves on the high school ministry team.
John graduated from Trinity International University with a Masters in Faith and Culture and a Masters of Divinity. His previous ministry experience includes twelve years on staff with CRU, discipling faculty and students at Purdue University, Trinity International University and St. Cloud State MN. John is married to Connie and they have three children.
John is passionate about creating a growing culture of real, accountable, and reproducing disciple-making relationships.

About Paul
Paul joined the CLCBC staff in August 2018. He serves as the Worship Director and assists in planning, rehearsing, and leading all aspects of the music and worship ministry in the weekly worship services.
Paul graduated from Northern Illinois University (DeKalb, IL) with both Bachelor and Master degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. He also holds a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Studies from Moody Theological Seminary (Chicago, IL) and a Doctor of Worship Studies from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies (Jacksonville, FL).
Prior to serving at CLCBC, Paul served as a Worship Pastor at Crossview Evangelical Free Church in DeKalb, Illinois. Paul is married to Hayeon, a native Korean, and they have three grown sons.

Robin Gwinn
Director of Children's Ministry
About Robin
Robin has been on staff at CLCBC for 12 years. Robin currently serves full time as the Coordinator of Church Connections and Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Robin also volunteers as the lead for the Women’s Ministry Team. She initially worked part time as a Ministry Admin during her first 6 years on staff.
Robin attended Moody Bible Institute for Christian Education. Prior to her employment at CLCBC, she worked as an Executive Admin at a Health Care Corporation. Robin coached Cheerleading for over 20 years at the local high school. She has been a member of CLCBC since 1985 and has served in many different areas. One of her passions is to motivate others to volunteer and serve.
Robin is married to Tim, and they have 3 adult children who are married and have given them 6 grandchildren. Robin received Christ as a young child, but it was at the age of 12 she made Christ the Lord of her life. Robin’s parents modeled serving in the church well, so she was involved in serving with Children’s Ministry, AWANA, and Youth Group during her youth years.
Robin’s life verse as a graduated grandparent is 3 John 1:4, “I have no greater JOY than to hear our children are walking in the truth.” As we teach our families to follow Christ. Robin’s prayer for our families is that our children will know and love Christ, serve and share His love to all those that He brings into their lives. God has no greater JOY than to see His children walking in the truth.

About Megan
Megan joined the CLCBC staff in December 2025 as the Coordinator of Youth Ministry. She has been a faithful member of Chain of Lakes for over a decade.
Megan graduated from Northern Michigan University with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Child Development. She has served in a variety of roles within children and student ministries at CLCBC, including Awana, Vacation Bible School, Impact, One-Eighty, Christian Education, and the Nursery Committee.
She and her husband, Tom, are faithfully raising their three children and nearing the end of their homeschooling journey. Megan has a deep passion for children of all ages and for sharing the Gospel with future generations.

Mary joined the CLCBC staff in November 2017 as interim Coordinator of Worship, and has been serving as the CLCBC Business Manager and Bookkeeper since September 2018.
Mary graduated from Trinity International University (Deerfield, IL) with a B.A. in Music/Vocal Performance and Business/Accounting.
She is married to Josh and they have five children, including two that God blessed them with through foster care adoption. They also have 20-ish chickens, a number of outdoor cats and a large organic vegetable garden. Mary has a passion for numbers and for music, and loves to help others follow Jesus by leading worship.

Erin Rife

About Erin
Erin and her family first came to CLCBC in 2020 through the Awana program. During the challenges of the pandemic, the 'beautiful white building on Grass Lake Road' became a shining beacon of freedom and a much-needed sanctuary for her family. That season sparked a deep call for Erin to serve this community, leading her to invest in our youth ministry and eventually join the staff in December 2025.
As the Coordinator of Communications, Events, and Volunteers, Erin uses her expertise in brand identity and creative marketing to support the church's various ministries. Having served in the Women's Ministry, Nursery, VBS, and Youth Ministry, Erin has a unique perspective on the volunteer experience and is committed to making special events at CLCBC both organized and life-giving for everyone involved.
Erin and her husband, Matt, are happily raising two children and cherish growing in faith with this congregation—a journey highlighted by Matt and their daughter being baptized together at the lake. Outside of church, Erin enjoys morning walks with Matt and has a passion for design, gardening, and eschatology.

About Karen
Karen is a charter member of Chain of Lakes Community Bible Church and joined staff as part-time Administrative Assistant in December 2025.
Karen worked for a major Insurance Company for 42 years and recently retired. She held various positions within the corporate environment including Executive Administrative Assistant and her last position as a Senior IT Project Manager. She also attended College of Lake County.
Karen was married to her late husband, Wayne, for 22 years and they have a son, Jake, who is still at home.
Karen has a passion for Truth, which is found in Jesus Christ and she studies His Word by attending women’s bible study for many years. Her life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”

Fred joined the CLCBC staff in January of 2026. He is an Electrician by trade since 1980, but has experience in generators, ham radio, and other projects.
He has three daughters: Nicole, Natalie, and Noelle. He has been blessed with two healthy grandchildren that keep him busy: Colt, a competitive basketball player, and Nora, the wild, free-spirited toddler.
When not working, Fred enjoys spending his free time golfing, contributing to his radio clubs, looking after his adopted dog (Piper) and cat (Chester), and spending time with his children.
You can find Fred around CLCBC, investing his skills into keeping our Church illuminated and functional.
